Binary opposition and ideology

1) One example of a Binary opposition I can suggest from watching this clip is that there is a opposition of immigration and working classes Russell claims that the profit being made is only benefiting the capitalists and not having impact on the working classes. There is also a Binary opposition between the rich and poor and how the increase in immigration has led to  the upper classes having a slight disadvantage because there is over crowding. Also Russel claims there is plenty of money being distributed but not in the right way in needs to be in society as it is not enough because of the ideologies that are transmitted  to everyone in society.
There is also a binary opposition of the disabled and those who are not disabled as it is a concern for Russell but some people disagree as they don't believe there is that much inequality in this concern.

2)The ideologies that are displayed in this clip are capitalism that is seen to be profit making through privatised companies and big thresholds. This means that the working classes are disadvantaged as Russell claims but doesn't want immigration to be lowered to a significant extent as a result. However, Nigel Firage believes that it should be controlled because it limits others from gaining adequately. This further reinforces ideology of conservatism as profit is seen to be made individually through effort and ability.

1) one Binary opposition which is suggested by this video is the middle class and working class in the education system which leads to some kids being disadvantaged especially those labelled. Diane Reay states that this can lead to social exclusion for some pupils because of these inequalities within the education system.Another Binary opposition that is highlighted is educational achievement and failure which she  describes as the elite is succeeding because of more privatisation which has led to segregation within the education system amongst different classes which is another binary opposition between white middle classes and the working class Afro black Caribbean are disadvantaged as a result.

2) The ideologies she promotes is little social mixing between the two classes, privatisation, habitus of the upper classes which all lead to educational failure and impacts certain individuals than others as a whole because of these ideologies of superiority that is being led in our culture today.
