)John Berger suggests that the 'way of seeing' perspective means that we change the way we see ourselves depending on what is being advertised as the consumer is meant to view the advert or product as a thing that will make their life better and transform them in a special way this means that this is mean't to trigger other people's perception and make them jealous and believe that after using this special product i will also be able to transform myself so the perception changes in people's mind.
)Psychologists believe that referencing is that we either perceive lifestyles as 'subconsciously' or 'knowingly' which means that there is a vision that is created is either a idealised lifestyle and behave accordingly to what we perceive.
)Marmite was discovered by a German scientist Justus Von Liebig who found that brewers yeast could be concentrated and then eaten and bottled.
)The Marmite brand is now owned by Unilever.
)The Marmite Brand used intertextuality by promoting the product by using other media products such as through Paddington and this can be linked to repetition of this product through out the movie as we see the bear trading marmalade sandwich with Marmite ones trying to persuade the audience that anyone can change their habits or tastes. Also the Marmite advert was in displayed in the advert zippy which was a children's advert making the product seem more visible o a wider audience.
)The difference between popular culture and high culture is that high culture is the consumption patterns, mannerisms, beliefs, amusement, leisure activities and tastes and preferences of societies elite and popular culture is that is a subculture which is shared by everyone or the mass of society but high culture is more appealing to the masses.
)Marmite positions the audience as 'enlightened, superior knowing insiders' because the audience know what is being presented and understand the conventions being displayed and as a result they now they are being exploited but still play the game along with this as a result.
)The Marmite advertising is a good example of postmodernism due to the fact that this advert makes us question what is real and of value of society and how tastes can progress with time. This is also relates with the fact that there is distinction of the reality of Marmite and the fiction of it as people forget about this spread easily when it remains in cupboards.
